Reflections and Useful information
Over 250 people attended the U2charist and over $2,200 was raised for the selected charities. The service lasted 1hr and 20 minutes.

Planning for this service began almost six months before the service.
In this time the following things took place.
A band was formed and selected music for the service. They practised weekly from four months prior to the service.
A promotional video was made can was uploaded to Youtube.
WebPages were created and added to the Church’s website. This site can now be accessed here.
Posters and Post cards were made (this are available on the old website)
A press release was formulated
An educational pack was distributed to schools and churches. It contained a DVD of the promotional video, a letter from the rector, posters, postcards and a copy of the press release.
A guest speaker (Dave Andrews) was contacted and invited to speak on the issue of poverty.
Contact was made with radio, tv and newspapers. (96.5fm, Australian Christian channel, Quest Newspapers and the Courier Mail) All but the courier mail reported the event. A pdf of the newspaper article is available here.
TShirts were produced (50)
Band members and others sent around promotional emails.
The service was promoted in church and at Deanery and Diocesan occasions.
Charities were contacted and invited to have booths at the post service refreshments.
Access Street Van agreed to serve coffee and invited people to donate tins of milo.
The band and the rector of the church rehearsed the service twice fully. This was to ensure that the both the spoken liturgy and the music meshed well together.
The band played in a local school the day before the service.
A task list of what had to take place is included here. The church had to be set up for the band and it also had to be made ready for traditional worship the next day.
We used 3 lcd projectors (one from the church and two borrowed).
A PowerPoint advertising church courses and also teaching about MDGs was shown from 5:30pm

The response from people present was very positive. People were impressed by the professionalism of the service and music and the post service activities worked very well.
Most of the Tshirts were sold or given away. These had been purchased by donation.
