Why Genesis? Genesis is an opportunity to explore Christianity in a relaxed atmosphere with a meal and informal discussion. Genesis is a course that explores life’s big questions. It doesn’t provide easy answers, but explores the meaning of life from a liberal Christian perspective. This perspective is inclusive and values tradition but seeks to interpret it in the light of a modern understanding about life and the world we live in. Genesis is based on the Anglican tradition. Life is complicated. It is full of deep questions and difficult experiences, as well as great joys, awe-inspiring events and mystery. The big questions in life don’t have simple answers and if we are honest, many of us try to run away from them. Some of the questions explored in Genesis are:
These questions cling to us—we cannot shake them off. Christianity gives insights into God and life’s questions. In particular how one life, the life of Jesus of Nazareth, might help us live our lives now. We aim to answer the questions that most people have, but rarely ask. The course also looks at issues to do with worshipping in a church. Genesis 2008If you are interested in joing a Genesis group, please email the rector at the address below. A Genesis Lunchtime11.45 am Meal Each week the topic for discussion is presented by Revd John Roundhill, Rector of Aspley Albany Creek Church. The topic is then informally discussed in small groups of 6 to 8 people without the clergy. All meetings take place in the Hall of the church, behind the church building.
