Taking care of friends
How can we feed his sheep?
Jesus took care of his friends by having them fish on the other side of the boat, so they caught lots. Listen to God’s voice and he will help you.
|Use some rolled up socks as fish. Throw them into a laundry basket to see how many you can catch. Stand further and further away from the basket.
Throw the socks in the air and try to catch them in the basket.
Jesus took care of his friends by giving them breakfast around a fire on a beach. What a great way to be with Jesus again!
Make some damper (it’s like bread) – yum yum!
|Resources you will need:
Textas, pencils, crayons….
Draw some hearts on a page or print the one below and use it Click to get the full size image. Write names of family and friends inside the hearts and how you’re going to take care of them this week.
Or you can write how you did take care of them. Remember you don’t have to be physically close to someone to take care of them. You can send someone a picture or a hug or…. :D
· Watch the YouTube clip – Jesus helps catch fish! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgLdPTbBtB8
Colour and complete the activities on attached sheets.
|Things to ponder with your children:
Especially in this time of lockdown and as we slowly come out of restrictions, it’s important that we take care of each other; those we know and those we don’t know.
How can we take care of Jesus’s sheep and lambs?
Prayer: Lord, help us to take care of each other each and every day. Amen.
